- Recognise that the KCB group has been a core partner to the Ministry having supported various sporting disciplines especially Motorsport over the years.
- Thank the Managing Director of KCB, Mr. Joshua Oigara and his team for believing in the future of Kenyan motorsport even after the Safari Rally was pulled off the WRC Circuit in 2002.
- Acknowledge the centrality of KCB’s support in continuing Kenya’s Motorsport legacy for the past two decades.
- Appreciate the support that KCB has accorded the Motor Sporting fraternity since 2003 and note that since the commencement of this partnership, KCB has invested a total of 1.2 Billion to motorsport making them the single largest commercial investor in motorsport. KCB also supports Autocross, Golf, Football and Rugby.
- Inform of the Government’s openness to collaborate with the private sector to develop sports following the challenges visited upon the sector by the coronavirus pandemic.
- Affirm that public-private partnerships in sports are essential components to Build Back Better systems, better teams, a better economy and most importantly, better health for all through sport.
- Invite more corporate players to support the sector and pledge full support to clear the processes and agreements. Indicate that the Ministry’s professional technical team in close collaboration with the Office of the Honourable Attorney General and Treasury have devised an efficient formular to review and finalise Memoranda of Understanding and Partnership Agreements at the same pace as expected in the Private Sector, and perhaps, even faster. (You cleared and signed the Agreement with KCB well before the agreed deadlines).
- Assure that the sports sector has embraced a culture of effective governance and through mechanisms set up by the State Department for Sports and the Office of Registrar of Sports, encouraged organic growth of Sports Organisations, particularly, legal and accountability processes providing a stable collaborative atmosphere for the private sector to engage openly and transparently to reap maximum value for investment.
- Encourage systematic uptake of grassroots sports organisations by SMES and MSMES and assure of the Ministry’s support to ensure that accruing benefits for these collaborations are enjoyed by our partners.
- Link sports and business collaboration as a healthy and necessary recipe for a sustainable global economic recovery.
