Cabinet Secretary for Sports, Culture and Heritage Amb. (Dr.) Amina Mohamed has sent condolences to the family, friends and relatives of soccer referee Nicholas Omondi who passed on while receiving treatment from injuries he sustained in a road accident.

The Cabinet Secretary eulogized Mr. Omondi as a committed soccer enthusiast who had grown through the ranks as a referee from the County, Division 2 and 1 and the national superleague level. He was later promoted to Premier League level in 2021.

“Mr. Omondi was a promising referee who was focused on improving the quality of soccer in the country. His contribution to soccer and sports in general in the country will forever be remembered by all of us”
