Serbian Players Donate KES 127M to the treatment of sick children

President Vucic promised Serbian footballers a €1 million (KES 127M) cash bonus if they defeated Portugal in the World Cup qualifiers.

The Group A rivals were level on points with Portugal, who were ahead of Serbia on goal difference, and Cristiano Ronaldo and co knew that a draw in Lisbon will be enough to secure a place in Qatar next winter.

However, according to Cabine Desportiva, the Serbian team was informed on their flight to Portugal that if they can pull off a famous win, they will be rewarded with a KES 127 million bonus.

The stars not only defeated Portugal to advance to the World Cup, but they did so right there in Lisbon, their opponents’ hometown. According to reports, after receiving the massive bonus, the players decided to donate the money to the treatment of sick children.

Against all odds, the Serbia qualified for Qatar 2022 after defeating Portugal 2-1 in Lisbon on Sunday.

The team captain stated the played for the Serbian Children and indeed the won for the Serbian Children
